FED ManuTech is supporting a major aerospace manufacturer of aluminum and specialty metal components, seeking a Production Director for its Laval facility.
MissionYour Role
• Lead the plant’s operational strategy alongside the Plant Manager to maximize efficiency, margins, and growth in manufacturing operations.
• Define, implement, and adjust production strategy and operations budget, including investments for short- and long-term goals.
• Oversee all production activities and on-time delivery through supervision of shop-floor supervisors and operational teams.
• Optimize manufacturing processes (aluminum and related) to boost productivity, quality, profitability, and customer deadlines.
• Establish, track, and analyze performance KPIs, developing corrective action plans as needed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, workplace health & safety, and adherence to internal and legal standards across the site.
• Collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and leadership team on monthly and annual operations planning.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, skills development, and retention in a unionized setting.
• Continuously analyze internal operations, identify improvements, and lead optimization projects.
• Monitor production financial performance, control costs, and drive growth objectives.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients and partners
Your Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, industrial management, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8-10 years in leadership or operations management in manufacturing, ideally aerospace or metals.
• Strong leadership, integrity, and ability to engage and develop production teams.
• Proficiency in operational and financial data analysis and performance metrics.
• Quick problem diagnosis and decision-making in high-demand environments.
• Proven experience in unionized settings and labor relations.
• Hands-on knowledge of aluminum processes or high-precision metal parts.
• Fluency in French and English, spoken and written.
Working Conditions
• Permanent, full-time role based on-site at the Laval manufacturing plant.
• Annual base salary between $120,000 and $150,000, plus performance bonus.
