Description
I’m supporting a Montreal-based company in the electronics manufacturing space that designs and produces a new generation of energy-efficient variable frequency drives.
Following its Series A and now scaling rapidly, the company is looking to strengthen its engineering team with a Process Engineer who can structure, improve, and industrialize production processes.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys building systems from the ground up and seeing their work move from the lab to real-world products.
Your work will be split between two complementary areas.
On the production side, you will be on the shop floor alongside the assembly team, unblocking daily issues, ensuring on-time shipments, and maintaining high quality standards.
On the engineering side, you will own process improvement: work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, quality documentation, cosmetic standards, Cpk analysis, as well as throughput and layout optimization projects.
You will also play a key role in New Product Introduction (NPI), acting as a bridge between R&D, mechanical, electrical, and production teams.
A significant part of the role involves coordinating with an international contract manufacturing partner - aligning processes, resolving discrepancies, and transferring solutions developed in Montreal. You will own ECO and SCAR workflows end to end.
In this startup environment, you will also build tools and dashboards (Excel / Power Query, AppSheet, and eventually ERP-ready systems) to enable scalable operations.
The current split is approximately 70% shop floor / 30% office.
Your Profile :
• 3 to 6 years of experience in electronics manufacturing process engineering (required)
• Experience working with contract manufacturers (strongly preferred)
• Strong Lean background, experience with non-conformance resolution (ECO, SCAR, Cpk), and knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001
• Comfortable with AutoCAD and SolidWorks, able to read CAD drawings and electronic schematics
• Advanced Excel / Power Query; SQL or automated test systems experience is a plus
• Professional English required for international collaboration; French is an asset
• Versatile, autonomous, and solution-oriented - thrives in a fast-paced environment where building matters more than managing
Working Conditions
• Permanent, full-time, on-site
• Salary: CAD 80,000 to 100,000 depending on experience
• 4 weeks of paid vacation from day one
• Full health coverage (extended health, disability, life insurance)
• Technically rich environment, high-impact product, small and focused team
• Transparent 3-step hiring process (intro call, technical interview, on-site lab visit)
