Mechanical Test Engineer - South Shore

Hello, my name is Marine Passchier, Recruitment Consultant at FED ManuTech, specializing in technical and manufacturing roles.

I am currently partnering with an innovative manufacturing company in the insulated metal panel industry that is looking to expand its R&D laboratory team.

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will play a key role in validating and improving product performance through mechanical testing.

Your main responsibilities include:
- Performing mechanical tests on existing and newly developed insulated metal panels to evaluate and validate performance
- Planning, executing, and documenting test procedures and results
- Contributing to the design, assembly, and continuous improvement of custom mechanical test rigs
- Working with pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, force and displacement sensors (analog and digital), and various instrumentation systems
- Taking part in the development of unique testing equipment, combining hands-on experimentation with technical creativity

You will collaborate closely with R&D, technical services, marketing, and production teams in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

- Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in mechanical testing, laboratory environments, or instrumentation is a strong asset
- Proficiency in 2D/3D design tools and mechanical assembly
- Strong analytical mindset with a results-driven approach
- Curious, hands-on, and proactive personality
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
