I'm looking for an FP&A Business Partner :

The FP&A Operations Business Partner is a strategic financial advisor supporting the National VP of Operations in optimizing cost structures, improving productivity, and safeguarding profitability.

Responsibilities

Cost of Sales Management:
- Monitor and analyze variances in materials, labor, and overhead against standard costs.
- Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate inventory valuation and expense recognition.

Operational Performance Analysis:
- Track and report KPIs related to manufacturing efficiency, OEE, waste, yield, and capacity utilization.
- Analyze trends in production costs, overtime, plant downtime, and process efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvement levers.

Supply Chain and Logistics Support:
- Analyze purchase price variances and collaborate with buyers to identify root causes and cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze freight cost per unit, warehousing costs, and distribution network performance.
- Support make-or-buy decisions, supplier cost benchmarking, and optimization of inbound/outbound flows.
- Validate logistics-related provisions and coordinate with accounting for accurate records.

Inventory and Working Capital Monitoring:
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory.
- Support inventory reduction initiatives and working capital optimization.
- Reconcile inventory movements and cycle count variances with plant controllers.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Variance Analysis:
- Lead bottom-line budgeting and ongoing forecasting for manufacturing and supply chain.
- Provide cost forecasts by plant, product category, and resource type.
- Investigate budget variances and support root cause analysis.

Investment Support (Capex/Opex):
- Support investment cases with cost-benefit analyses and ROI modeling.
- Ensure capital expenditures align with productivity and savings goals.
- Track ROI and savings realization from operational investments.

ERP and Data Integrity:
- Ensure integrity of master data related to costs and inventory (valuation class, P&L account, cost centers).
- Participate in system upgrades, cost calculations, and ERP testing from a financial perspective.

Your profile

Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting with a strong understanding of business operations.
- Proven ability to challenge and support operations management constructively.
- Advanced experience with Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.).
- Comfortable working on-site, conducting visits, and validating data.
- Effective communicator able to translate data into actionable insights.

Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a solid grasp of operational principles.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Industrial Engineering with an accounting focus. CPA or CMA required.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in finance or cost accounting, including over 2 years supporting operations or plant finance.
- Experience in industrial sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain is essential.
- Solid understanding of standard cost accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, and cost flows.
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written. This role requires collaboration with other sites across Canada where only English is spoken.
