Hello, my name is Bianka, Senior Team Leader at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in accounting, finance, and payroll professions. I handle two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent positions in the Greater Montreal area.

We are currently looking for a Corporate Controller to join the Finance team. As we continue to grow, we are constantly searching for exceptional talent to be a part of our team.


Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities for our US and Canadian entities which will include:

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
* Oversee and manage the daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition.
* Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Responsible for the timely production of consolidated monthly financial statements package and variance analysis.
* Responsible for preparing reports required by regulatory agencies and corporate office.
* Contribute to developing accounting procedures and strategies to improve efficiency by exploring new tools and software.
* Collaborating with the Revenue Cycle Management Team to mitigate revenue leakage and bad debts expense.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
* Lead the development and execution of the company's annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process.
* Collaborate with department heads and business unit leaders to establish budgetary targets and financial goals.
* Monitor and analyze actual financial performance against budget, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions as necessary.

Compliance, Controls & Audit
* Establish and maintain a documented system of controls over accounting transactions, policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with IFRS and the maintenance and revisions of accounting policies and procedures.
* Manages internal and external audit processes, collaborating with auditors to ensure audits are completed efficiently and issues are addressed promptly.

Tax, Treasury & Cash Management
* Assist third-party tax preparers for both Canadian and US entities and maintaining a schedule of tax return deadlines.
* Collaborate with banks and overall cash management.

Other Responsibilities
* Perform other ad hoc projects as required.

Skills / Qualifications Required
* CPA degree required.
* Bilingual fluency in English and French.
* 3 - 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience; healthcare or technology sector experience a plus.
* Strong knowledge of GAAP & IFRS, internal controls and analytical/critical thinking, including the ability to communicate clearly to all levels within the organization.
* Ability to effectively multi-task and deliver on expectations and requests from different departments.
* Experience with ERP systems (experience with MS Dynamics is an asset).
