My name is Romane, I'm a recruitment and business development consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in finance. I handle both temporary and permanent recruitment on the South Shore of Montreal. Our team of finance experts speaks your language and thrives in your field. We cover accounting, finance, and payroll positions.
I'm looking for a Financial Controller for my client, a company in the insurance sector. This is a permanent position with only one day per week at the Brossard office.
Financial Planning and Management
- Develop SaaS financial models, profitability analyses, and budget forecasts.
- Ensure the production of monthly financial statements and reports for the board.
- Build and monitor budgets, cash flows, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Actively collaborate on financing, grant, and investment strategies.
Accounting and Control
- Oversee the entire accounting cycle with an experienced existing accounting resource.
- Ensure the rigor of internal control policies, internal/external audits, and tax compliance.
- Manage month-end and year-end processes and tax obligations, in conjunction with Business Central.
- Produce ad hoc analyses, particularly for acquisitions or special projects.
TPA Compliance and Governance
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements specific to TPA services. - Maintain robust documentation, data retention, and traceability processes.
- Support obligations related to the Business Corporations Act, financial audits, and CSAE standards.
Strategic Relationships
- Act as the primary contact for financial institutions, investors, and partners.
- Actively participate in discussions with shareholders and in executive committee decisions.
Operational Leadership
- Collaborate on the development of the Business Central platform (financial ERP).
- Oversee the performance of the accounting team and contribute to its growth.
- Work closely with the IT, product, and management teams.
- CPA designation required (CPA, CMA, or CA).
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central is required.
- Experience in a SaaS company or in a fast-growing technology environment is a major asset.
- Strong skills in financial modeling, management accounting, and strategic analysis.
- Excellent business judgment and the ability to thrive in an agile and entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent command of Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools.
- Bilingualism (French and English) required to communicate with English-speaking stakeholders.
