I am currently seeking a Financial Analyst with manufacturing experience for one of my clients, a well-established company in the manufacturing sector. This is a permanent position based in Montreal, offering a hybrid work model with 2 days of remote work per week and 3 days in the office.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, Eastern Division, the incumbent participates in the plant’s accounting and financial activities. They are responsible for monitoring financial results, contributing to month-end close processes, assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting, and performing various analyses to support business decision-making.
This role provides direct exposure to manufacturing operations and involves close collaboration with the Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
Participate in the full accounting cycle and month-end closing activities.
Prepare account reconciliations and financial analyses.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Collaborate with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Financial Analysis
Prepare and analyze monthly financial results.
Assist in the development of annual budgets.
Prepare financial forecasts.
Analyze variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide financial recommendations based on analysis and findings.
Manufacturing Environment
Perform production cost and cost accounting analyses.
Monitor the financial performance of manufacturing operations.
Identify significant variances and recommend corrective actions.
Support managers in profitability analysis and business decision-making.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial and operational processes.
Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.
At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and production cost analysis.
Public accounting experience serving manufacturing clients will be considered an asset.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle.
Solid knowledge of manufacturing accounting and cost accounting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Advanced proficiency in Excel.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, autonomous, and proactive.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Working Conditions
Full-time permanent position.
35-hour work week.
Regular daytime schedule.
Hybrid work model: 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
Additional involvement may be required during month-end and year-end closing periods.

Recruitment Process
