My name is Fiona, and I'm a recruitment and business development consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment consultancy specializing in the recruitment of finance professionals. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent on Montreal's South Shore. Our team of finance experts speaks your language and operates in your world. We cover accounting, finance and payroll.

I'm looking for a Director of Finance for a company in the manufacturing sector. This is a permanent hybrid position in Brossard.

MAIN DUTIES:

-Plan, organize, direct and control activities related to accounting and finance;
-Develop and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with senior management, operational and sales departments;
-Provide detailed financial reports and analyses to senior management and the parent company in the USA;
-Implement financial forecasts and perform variance analyses against targets and budget;
-Lead, coach and motivate the finance team
-Support Sales Management to ensure a sustainable and strategic approach (e.g. volume discounts, margin analysis, etc.);
-Analyze production and sales results on a monthly basis;
-Work closely with operational departments (production, procurement, etc.) to ensure proper execution of financial plans;
-Support other departments in the financial analysis of their projects and operations;
Ensure the preparation and complete analysis of month-ends;
-Perform payroll accounting and follow up with various government bodies (Revenu Québec, Canada Revenue Agency, etc.);
Oversee cash management, cash flows, and short- and long-term financing requirements;
-Optimize working capital management, including receivables and inventory management;
Implement and monitor financial performance indicators for fair and informed decision-making;
Coordinate and conduct year-end audits;
-Foster a culture of rigor and continuous improvement within the department;
-As an active member of the management committee, promote profitable growth by analyzing, influencing and implementing growth and cost reduction projects;
-Ensure clear, open and effective communication with parent company regarding financial performance and compliance with local tax, statutory and accounting regulations, as well as implementation of corporate guidelines and global initiatives;
-Evaluate, prioritize and assign various special projects related to his/her area of expertise;
-Perform all other related tasks.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

-Bachelor's degree in finance or any related discipline;
-Minimum 10 years' progressive professional experience in finance;
-Experience in the manufacturing sector;
-CPA accounting designation;
In-depth knowledge of current accounting and tax standards, as well as the specifics of the manufacturing sector;
-Excellent command of computer systems, particularly Excel and ERP (experience with D365 will be considered an asset);
-Bilingualism (French-English), both oral and written, to communicate with teams outside Quebec.
