MissionReporting to the Accounting Department, you will be responsible for producing reliable financial information and ensuring deadlines are met, including the preparation of audited financial statements.
You will coordinate monthly closings, contribute to process improvements and manage an accounting team within a growing organisation.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the accounting team on a day-to-day basis;
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements (Canada / USA);
- Oversee tax matters (planning, returns, compliance);
- Ensure the reliability of financial data and validate journal entries and reconciliations;
- Prepare and analyse monthly and consolidated financial statements;
- Produce reports for senior management;
- Lead audits and coordinate the preparation of audited annual financial statements;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and to budgeting/forecasting work.

PROFILE:
• At least 7 years’ progressive and relevant experience;
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance;
• Membership of the CPA Canada (or equivalent);
• Bilingual in French and English;
• Experience in the manufacturing and/or agri-food sector (an advantage);
• Experience with tax returns and compliance (an asset);
• Previous successful experience in management and/or supervisory roles;
• Excellent leadership skills and written and oral communication skills;
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and familiarity with US GAAP;
• Good knowledge of and/or interest in Canadian and US tax legislation (income tax and sales tax);
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to adapt to change, identify areas for improvement and develop best practices.
