My name is Melissa, I am a recruitment consultant in finance, accounting and payroll. I work in permanent and temporary positions in the Greater Montreal Region.

I am looking for a controller for my client located in Ville St-Laurent to supervise 1 accounting clerk. This role is permanent, full-time, in person.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Reporting to the President
* Preparing financial statements monthly and other financial reports as required. (Including Monthly closing procedures)
* Managing balance sheet accounts ensuring that assets and liabilities are properly recorded.
* Cash management controls and reporting
* Recommending improved accounting and reporting systems and providing analysis for the development of financial policies and procedures.
* Preparing year-end audit working papers and analyzing accounts.
* Prepare annual R&D application and Government communications
* Prepare budgets and forecasting
* Prepare and analysis various variances manufacturing/production reporting and job costing
* Preparing and monitoring the accounting department budget including the review and approval of invoices for payment ensuring charges are valid
* Hands on controls of all accounting phases (A/P, A/R, Payroll, etc.)
* Manage Sales Credit Insurance and credit limits of customers
* Production and Landed Cost variance and costing
* Sales daily controls, variances, margins
* Preparation of bi-weekly payroll and Monthly Government reporting
* Responsible and maintaining reporting of Group Insurance, CSST, etc.
* Supervision of an accounting / data entry clerk and administrative office staff
* Inventory Management & Internal Controls
* Software implementations follow up and debugging
* Communications with Financial Bankers

Qualifications:
* Senior level CMA, CA, CGA will be an asset
* University degree with Major in Finance/Management will be an asset
* Minimum 3-5 years experience within a production company will be an asset
* Experience in the food sector will be a major asset
* Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems as well as PC environment
* Pro-active and good planner, Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem solve
* Professional attitude and demeanor
* Co-operator; Strong team player; able to perform in a fast-paced environment
