I'm looking for an Assurance and Accounting Director for an accounting firm in Mirabel.

Your responsibilities:
Distribute tasks across the team and ensure a fair workload.
Monitor the progress of various assignments and ensure deadlines are met.
Provide technical support and training to team members (accounting standards, professional regulations, internal tools, etc.).
Supervise assigned staff: performance reviews, attendance tracking, individual coaching.
Conduct final reviews of financial statements and validate the accuracy of financial data.
Ensure all client assignments are completed on time.
Oversee the preparation of year-end financial statements (compilations, reviews) and related financial reports.
Review sections of personal and corporate tax returns prepared by the team.
Follow up on dividend reporting for tax forms (e.g., T5).
Manage internal projects and participate in special engagements (e.g., asset acquisitions, expansion projects).
Handle government requests during audits (personal taxes, corporate taxes, sales taxes).
Meet with clients to present and explain their financial statements.
Regularly analyze clients' financial performance and provide follow-ups (monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually).
Offer financial or tax advice to help improve clients' situations.
Review and approve invoices for files under your responsibility.
Support business development and take part in networking opportunities.
Evaluate and improve internal practices and tools to enhance team efficiency.
Perform any other related duties as required.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Experience with Caseware (strong asset).

Comfortable using Taxprep for individuals and corporations.

Knowledge of Taxprep for trusts is an advantage.

Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks (QBO) or Sage 50 is a plus.

Excellent command of written and spoken French.

Requirements:
CPA designation required.

5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Willing to work extra hours during peak periods, especially from January to April.

Occasional travel to client locations may be required.
