I'm looking for an Acccounting Manager for my client, a large retail group.. This is a full-time permanent role with a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Manager, Accounting will play a leadership role in strengthening financial operations and promoting process excellence within the finance function.
This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the organization's financial records, as well as optimizing key accounting processes, including fixed asset accounting, revenue recognition, supplier rebates, and payroll reconciliations, while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls in accordance with Regulation 52-109.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and implementation of end-to-end processes, manage and develop a high-performing team, and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and guidance to a team of two people, including coaching, performance management, and goal setting;
* Oversee daily accounting operations, ensure efficient allocation of responsibilities, and identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve productivity;
* Support an accurate and timely financial close process, including analysis of monthly financial results and review of quarterly and annual financial statements;
* Review monthly provisions, key accrual entries, and balance sheet reconciliations;
* Provide insightful financial analyses to support strategic decision-making, including evaluation of revenue program performance and profitability, as well as cost analyses by supplier, service, and special project;
* Be responsible for all fixed asset accounting, including policies and procedures related to asset acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and compliance with accounting policies and internal control requirements;
* Lead the design and implementation of new financial processes to optimize financial and management reporting in support of the company's continued growth;
* Maintain and manage financial master data (cost centers, internal orders), ensuring alignment with planning and financial reporting requirements;
* Oversee accounting and forecasting for the corporate fleet, including monthly review of fleet assets, vehicle acquisition forecasts, and annual evaluation of fleet program costs and policies;
* Keep accounting process descriptions and workflows up to date to ensure compliance with Regulation 52-109 requirements;
* Lead the coordination, review, and evaluation of SOC (Service Organization Control) reports to ensure system integrity and operational risk management;
* Coordinate and support the timely preparation of financial data and documents required for external and government audits;
* Collaborate with payroll and IT teams to ensure alignment, integrity, and execution of payroll account reconciliations, filings, and payments.

Job Requirements
* CPA designation required and audit experience in a Big 4 firm;
* Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a similar role;
* 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting;
* In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and internal control framework under Regulation 52-109;
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
* Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills in a high-volume data environment;
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships, influence, and collaborate at all levels of the organization;
* Proficiency in ERP systems, experience with SAP is an asset;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English (English proficiency is essential in this role, as employees are regularly required to collaborate with our partners located in Ontario).
