How you’ll make an impact
We’re a DevOps / Platform Engineering team that builds and operates cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automation. Most of our engineers come from software development backgrounds and are very strong builders.
What we’re missing is a dedicated quality mindset - someone whose primary focus is helping us prove that changes are safe, observable, and production‑ready before they reach production.
This role is not about finding bugs for the sake of it, and it’s not a manual QA role. It’s about partnering with engineers to improve how we design, test and validate infrastructure changes in complex systems.
What you’ll do
- Work alongside DevOps engineers and architects as an embedded quality partner
- Support teams during design and refinement by helping clarify how changes will be tested, validated and monitored
- Identify risks, potential failures and regression areas early in the delivery process
- Define clear test intent and coverage for infrastructure and platform changes
- Create and improve pre‑deployment checks and post‑deployment verification
- Build and maintain smoke tests, sanity checks, and validation workflows
- Help validate monitoring and alerting to ensure changes are working as expected in production
- Write and maintain test scripts and automation where it adds value
- Establish repeatable testing patterns so teams can move faster without re‑inventing testing
- Ensure testing and validation activities are documented, traceable and auditable
- Provide an independent and thoughtful quality perspective while supporting timely delivery
What you’ll bring to the team
Required Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science, computer engineering or information technology
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development, site reliability, technical analyst or quality assurance
- Strong general technical aptitude and systems thinking
- Experience testing or validating complex technical solutions
- Comfort reading and writing code or scripts (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Bash)
- Ability to ask good questions and challenge assumptions constructively
- Experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure, CI/CD, or distributed systems (breadth matters more than depth)
- Clear written communication - especially around test coverage and outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a software developer or site reliability engineer with a strong interest in testing, reliability or quality
- Background as a technical analyst or QA engineer with hands‑on coding and automation experience
- Experience in a platform or DevOps engineering role with a focus on validation, verification and operational readiness
- Comfort working across engineering, architecture and operations teams
- Ability to think critically about risk, failure modes and system behaviour in production
