We are looking for a Daytime Dispatcher to support our Workload Planning office!

At Enbridge, our Dispatchers are primarily responsible for responding to and executing work dealing with emergencies, changes in schedules with field reps and providing customer interaction. This position has the decision making on handling emergency orders, crew planning, etc.

Our ideal candidate has a focus on attention to detail and strong communication skills.

What you will do (Responsibilities):

  • Responsible for ensuring that work assignments optimize the productive time of company resources. This includes, but is not limited to, calling customers for commitments and re-commitments.

  • Monitor data communications and responds to requests for information from field personnel such as Field Reps and Field Supervisors.

  • Responds to local emergency situations based on the type of emergency, available resources and required skill sets including, but not limited to, calling for emergency locates, arranging overtime, notification to customers, etc. Local emergencies are handled according to documented procedures (i.e. emergency matrix).

  • Provide information to management personnel with respect to emergency situations, workload statuses, etc.

  • Work with the Planner, Utility Services Planner and Utility Planning Clerk to ensure work is completed by the prescribed deadline.

  • Perform other departmental duties as required.

Who you are (Qualifications):

You will have the following combination of education and experience:

  • Minimum secondary school education with some post-secondary education preferred (Emergency Telecommunications certificate or accredited training).

  • Experience in dispatching and/or field operations preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience with computer applications supporting workload planning preferred.

  • Must have a demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as CIS, GIS preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Comment: This role is workload coverage for 9 months.
