We are looking to add a Sr Analyst to our Capital Assets team! The primary focus of this role will be to independently take on routine assignments, with sound technical understanding of all elements of the job.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform assigned monthly tasks and assist others as needed.

  • Possess in-depth understanding of accounting principles and ability to analyze and solve higher-level problems.

  • Proactively monitor our systems, processes and our partners to identify triggers that require our actions or responses.

  • Completes assignments and produces high quality results in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Understands and is able to communicate the business reasons and/or the “why” behind assignments and conclusions reached.

  • Performs self-review to ensure balances agree to supporting documentation, schedules and formulas are mathematically accurate, variances are accurately documented, and judgments are sound.

  • Gain a working level understanding of the Capitalization Policy, accruals, capitalized interest (AFUDC), project allocations and Contributions In Aid of Construction (CIAC) requirements to complete tasks and advise partners.

  • Understands the importance of maintaining detailed and disciplined approaches to processing tasks.

  • Maintain a continuous improvement and continuous learning mentality and work with the people leader to proactively pursue system and process changes where warranted.

Who You Are:
  • You possess at least two years of directly related experience and related university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Working towards a CPA designation preferred.

  • A solid understanding of Enbridge’s GDS business unit and regulatory environment.

  • Capital assets & O&M experience preferred.

  • Understands the SOX controls impacting tasks and align with control requirements.

  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and organized manner based on the targeted level within the company.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills combined with analytical abilities.

  • Extremely organized and capable of balancing multiple priorities independently.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods preferred.

  • Possess in-depth financial software skills (excel) and accounting system/ERP software skills (Oracle, SAP, etc.).

  • Optimally solicit knowledge and information from other departments to use in completing assignments.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
