What you will do:
Independently provide a wide range of technical expertise and support to the Control Centre for all pipeline and terminal operations such as pipeline hydraulics, pumps, nitrogen purging, overpressure protection, and transient hydraulic operability review.
Plan and optimize system outages collaboratively with all internal partners ensuring throughput losses are minimized on a rolling 6-month cycle as guided by Enbridge values, risk, cost benefit analysis, and performance metrics.
Accountable to identify and mitigate process safety risk in outage planning and collaborative effort with outage requestor.
Provide on call technical support to Control Centre Operations on a shared CCO Engineering team rotation.
Ensure pipelines operate in a safe, operable, compliant, and efficient manner by management of pipeline operating limits to best achieve line protection performance on a line-by-line basis.
Maintain a foundational technical knowledge base internal to Control Center Operations for operational issue stewardship on a wide variety of engineering subject areas including mechanical, electrical, controls, and process engineering.
Who you are:
Engineering degree. Professional Engineering designation or eligible to attain a P Eng designation.
Four or more years of progressively responsible experience. Pipeline hydraulics knowledge and experience is an asset.
Technical and working knowledge of internal and industry design codes and standards.
Proven planning and problem solving skills that support decision making.
Effective communication skills to lead partners with varied interests in issue resolution.
Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5 year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a driver’s abstract check prior to hire.
Working Conditions:
Office environment. Occasional travel and field visits up to 5%.
On-call rotations (1 week on-call every 4-8 weeks).
Required at times to be on call monitoring phone calls or email on evenings and weekends.
