Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system
- Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness
- Quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity
- Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations
- Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration
- Generate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report
- Ensure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner
- Assist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in person
- Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff
- Preparation and analysis of air samples for asbestos content using PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy), and all ancillary quality control procedures
- Determination of visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos material
- Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
