We are looking for an Health and Safety Manager.

Develop and implement, in collaboration with the departments, the training and information program resulting from the implementation of this policy, intended for managers and staff members.

Ensure that the policy and procedures are applied within their department.

Set and adopt measurable objectives and targets for their department.

Develop and implement their department’s action plan and monitor its progress.

Communicate to all managers in their department the policies, guidelines, and procedures, as well as the objectives and targets resulting from the implementation of this policy.

Support managers in their department both in identifying risks and determinants and in implementing measures to eliminate them or reduce their impact.

Ensure the development of managers’ skills in integrated prevention management.

Act as a consultant on prevention, workplace presence, and quality of life at work.
Advise management and employees on the prevention of injuries and damage to the plant and equipment.
1) On legal requirements regarding safety, health, and well-being.
2) On the safety adaptation of new equipment.
3) On the validity of all test certifications.
4) On the availability and use of protective clothing and equipment
5) Changes to legislation, standards, etc.

Assess incident trends and review overall safety performance.

Maintain contact with professional organizations (e.g., medical organizations, systems, occupational hygienists, prevention associations, etc.)

Participate in seminars or information, education, and training sessions on health and safety.

Prepare inspection reports and ensure that corrective measures have been taken in all cases where deficiencies were identified.

Investigate workplace accidents and occupational illnesses, monitor preventive measures (verification and control), and follow up on cases with the occupational health and safety association.

Periodically inspect workplaces.
Lead and oversee the health and safety committee.
Follow up on injury cases with the Human Resources Department and the occupational health and safety association.
Welcome new employees and provide them with basic safety training.

Requested skills

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English;
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian health and safety standards, laws, and regulations;
  • Experience managing health and safety across multiple sites;
