The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Sr. Administrator, Database. This job is full-time permanent.

The DBA group supports the database environments in collaboration with the Infrastructure teams (Servers, Telecom, Storage, etc.) on a 24/7 basis.

Reporting to the Manager, DBA Services, your role will consist in implementing and administering databases, principally Oracle & SQL Server, in accordance with the company’s business objectives.

Your challenges:

• Provide your technical expertise and work independently;
• Maintain the availability and continuity of the databases;
• Ensure the integrity of the databases, in accordance with security procedures and strategies;
• Perform database capacity analyzes;
• Analyze, prepare, and communicate the change details to the Change committee;
• Resolve incidents and participate in the problem analysis and the implementation of the solutions;
• Participate in project analysis and implementation;
• Automate and improve existing procedures, and develop new ones, as required;
• Document procedures and system configurations and ensure the documentation is kept up to date;
• Participate in audits for databases;
• Serve as a cornerstone for the development of the team’s technical skills;
• Provide on-call support 24/7, on a rotating basis.

Your Skills:

• Working knowledge administrating databases;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Experience working with application support teams;
• Demonstrate organizational skills and coordination capacity;
• Demonstrate customer service skills;
• Ability to prioritize, to multitask, and to follow up on and execute a wide range of requests;
• Ability to self-develop professional skills relevant to current and future roles;
• Ability to be influential, to motivate, and be supportive in a team;
• Effective oral and written communication skills in both official languages.


Your profile:

• You hold a college or university diploma in IT; specialization in relational database management system technology is an asset;
• You have a minimum of 10 years of experience with database administration, including 5 years of experience with Oracle (Oracle9i to Oracle19c), and 5 years of experience with SQL Server (2005 to 2022);
• You have experience with any of the Oracle Database and SQL Server components, utilities, features and related tools (RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SSRS, SSIS, etc.);
• You have knowledge of Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems;
• Knowledge of SAP / SAP HANA / MaxDB systems is a plus;
• Experience with Commvault is an asset;
• Experience with Informix is an asset;
• Experience with PostgreSQL is an asset;
• Knowledge of the ITIL process and ITSM tools (ServiceNow) is an asset.
