The location in Port Alberni, BC, is seeking talent to fill the position of Human Resources Coordinator.

This job is full-time and permanent.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Ensure employee records are current and information including leaves, accommodations, discipline records, benefit enrollment and payroll statuses are maintained.

  • Assist with recruitment.

  • Maintain department records to ensure accuracy including organization charts, job postings, leaves, accommodations, assist with scheduling, maintain templates, aide with the management policies and procedures.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external service providers to ensure compensation and benefit programs are administered appropriately and cost effectively.

  • Have a good knowledge of the benefit plans to provide employee benefits services that meet the needs of employees, facilitate problem solving of employee concerns, manage employee changes and provide employment related information in a timely manner.

  • Have a good working knowledge of Labour Relations and have previous experience in a unionized environment.

  • Liaise with all other departments within the paper mill.

  • Participate in the development and communication of human resources business, processes, policies and programs.

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety.

  • A strong desire to work with and help others.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION:

  • A dregree in Human Resources or a related field is considered an asset

  • 3-5 years of related experience.

Salary rate: $65,000 to $75,000 per annum (actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
