SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person in a radiology who performs various exams and produces medical images using devices provided for the purpose of helping to achieve a medical diagnosis or for research purposes.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* Assesses the clinical information in the medical prescription;* Explains the exam to the patient in order to make sure he or she understands the process;* Positions the patient and the machine according to the examination's requirements;* Chooses the tools essential to achieve the requested medical image.
Education:
- Must have a diploma of college studies with specialization in Radio-Diagnostic Technology from a school recognized by the ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport;
- Must be a member of the Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec.
Experience:
- One year of relevant experience;
- Experience in office automation and knowledge of applications specific to medical imaging.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Manual dexterity, good vision and hearing, acuity, attention to detail;
- Capability to adapt to a constantly evolving technology;
- Sense of accountability, analytical, and good judgment;
- Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational and decision-making skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Language:
- Fluent in English;
- Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
Other:
- Able to adapt to schedule and working conditions changes as well as on-call periods;
- Autonomous Practice in obstetrical ultrasound is an asset;
- Willing to travel.
