SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person who assumes responsibility for a range of nursing care activities based on the bio-psycho-social needs of assigned users or groups of people. She/he assesses users’ state of health, determines and ensures the implementation of nursing care and treatment plans for users with complex health problems and/or various bio-psycho-social dimensions. She/he provides nursing and medical care and treatment to maintain health, restore health and prevent disease. She/he can prescribe laboratory analyzes, treatments, products, medication and dressings in the fields of wound care, public health and routine care according to the regulations in force.
She/he designs, applies and evaluates care programs requiring advanced knowledge, aimed at complex health problems and/or involving various bio-psycho-social dimensions. She/he participates in the development or adaptation of clinical and quality-of-care assessment tools, coordinates teamwork and plays an advisory role with colleagues and the interdisciplinary team.
• Contribute to the ongoing effort to maintain access to respiratory virus vaccination and screening;
• Ensure that access to STBBI screening and treatment can be maintained;
• Being an active member of an interdisciplinary team;
• Support and strengthen families to promote the optimal health and development in all age groups;
SPECIFIC FONCTIONS
Screening and treatment:
• Provide access to various infectious diseases screening and testing (STBBI, respiratory viruses and MADO), do the counseling, interpret result, conduct contact tracing and investigation and offer appropriate treatment and recommendation
• Contribute to the implementation and the use of specific screening devices such as ID now, GenXpert and ionic nebuliser.
• Contribute to the deployment and implementation of populational screening strategies related to infectious diseases.
• Support the CMC current services in:
o Managing and monitoring cases of contagious tuberculosis
o Managing and monitoring people in close contact with these cases
• Support the follow-up of MADO and deliver the treatment to the social network of the index case, in collaboration with region 17.
Vaccination:?
• Coordinate and support local team into continuous access to respiratory viruses vaccination
• Provide spontaneous support to immunisation programmes: vaccination of workers, influenza campaign, school vaccination and others.
• Provide support for post exposure immunisation against rabies
• Update files and SI-PMI.
Outbreak management and Emergency response:
• Collaborate with local team and community-based partners to lead outbreak management response or play any role requested by regional Public Health team to response to a public health treat, known or emerging.
Outreach and partnership:
• Contribute to develop and maintain partnership with community-based entities.
• Participate and organize workshops and activities about various health topics.
• Collaborate with partners, provide and conduct at least 2 outreach outings weekly where services are provided to the community outside the CMC walls.
• Focus on building trust relationships with youth and provide them with support, solutions, resources and promote participation to traditional and land-based programming.
• Support and strengthen families to promote the optimal health and development in all age groups.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q;
• Must have Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an undergraduate degree consisting of three (3) admissible certificates, of which two (2) are accredited certificates in Nursing;
• INSPQ training "The STI screening intervention - the nurse's contribution” is (training may be done after the start of the assignment) (an asset);
• Training of the Protocole d'immunisation du Québec PIQ;
• Be familiar with the Tuberculosis Professional Practice Guide
• Must have relevant clinical experience in public health.
Experience:
• Two (2) years of experience as a nurse;
• Must have relevant clinical experience in public health;
• Experience with a First Nation clientele (an asset);
• Must have experience in outreach and providing care outside of a clinical setting;
• Experience in a remote area.
LANGUAGE
• Fluent in English and in French;
• Fluency in Cree is an asset.
