The API writer team is seeking a talented intern! API writers are responsible for Coveo’s public-facing developer documentation, and for the documentation site and tooling. They also help to automate documentation generation, work on documentation tools and more!
If you have fullstack development skills and an interest in writing documentation to help support other developers, this is the internship opportunity for you!
What would your typical day look like:- You start your day off with a team meeting (scrum) to track the progress on the team’s different projects and elevate each other by sharing innovative ideas.
- You produce an example of functional code to demonstrate a use case for one of our libraries.
- You then review your coworker’s ruby script to automate documentation generation, which they submitted yesterday afternoon on GitHub.
- After lunch, you review some API reference documentation drafted by a backend developer for a new service.
- Finally, you collaborate on a module in a developer tutorial. You then jump on a planning meeting with a team you’re writing documentation for.
- You are studying Software Engineering or Computer Science and you have a passion for writing, or you’re pursuing a double major with something like Linguistics, Philosophy, or Psychology.
- You have experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and Ruby.
- You have excellent writing skills and can explain things in a cohesive manner.
- You have a strong sense of ownership; always finding ways to learn and keep up with current trends.
- You’re a tech enthusiast and love solving complex puzzles and problems.
- You participated in programming activities like hackathons or are working on relevant side projects.
- You lead with a proactive mindset, ready to take action on your ideas.
- You are not afraid to ask questions and are always willing to learn.
