As an Application Scientist, you will report to the Head of the Application Laboratory within the Innovation Department. You will be responsible for developing CW and pulsed fiber-optic systems to measure the performance of Coractive’s active optical fibers.

- Design and assemble optical systems used to test the performance of active optical fiber products.
- Design pulsed laser or optical amplifier systems.
- Work with both high- and low-optical-power systems.
- Use simulation tools to guide and validate laboratory testing.
- Analyze, interpret, and present performance test and simulation results.
- Provide recommendations on product parameters to the active optical fiber design team in order to improve product performance.
- Design methods, assemblies, and simulation tools to verify optical performance in representative systems.
- Design and supervise the assembly of characterization test benches for new production batches.
- Provide technical support and qualification for fiber optic components and systems.
- Contribute to scientific publications and stay informed of scientific advances in the field.
- Support the quality group in failure analysis and customer complaint investigations.
- Periodically participate in systematic reviews of scientific articles and other publications related to technological innovations, new applications, and competitor products.
- Collaborate in the equipment acquisition process by conducting research on available market solutions, costs, quotations, etc.
- Compile performance data.
- Prepare various technical reports.
- Perform any other related tasks associated with the field of activity.
We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Engineering Physics, Optoelectronics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of laser systems or pulsed amplifiers.
- Minimum of three years of academic or industrial experience in a photonics optics laboratory.
- Experience in the manufacturing of technological products, including the commissioning of laboratory or production equipment.
- Knowledge of active and passive optical fibers, as well as fiber optic or laser components.
- Experience in assembling fiber laser systems is considered an asset.
- Good command of English.
- Ability to follow rigorous and methodical processes.
