What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and mentor employees to develop a high-performing and cohesive team
  • Work together with the People and Culture Team to effectively resolve internal staff conflicts, and to ensure employees have access to available resources
  • Participate in the hiring, onboarding and training of new employees
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations, provide regular performance feedback and coaching, and implement disciplinary measures as required
  • Follow and enforce all safety initiatives and policies, and champion the company safety culture
  • Delegate responsibilities and oversee branch operations
  • Collaborate with internal teams across the organization to ensure top-quality customer service at all stages of the rental process
  • Work closely with all levels of the organization to ensure a team-based approach to problem solving
  • Focus on keeping fleet rental ready through establishing efficient and effective shop flow
  • Supervise mechanics to ensure priorities are being set and preventative maintenance schedule is being followed
  • Make recommendations to management regarding rental fleet inventory

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the construction equipment rental industry or a closely related field
  • Thorough knowledge of construction equipment would be an asset
  • Prior experience with managing a team is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Highly results-driven with a customer-oriented mindset
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with customers, employees, and other parties at all levels of the organization in a professional manner
  • Comfortable with computers and proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Power Point). Experience with viewing reports in PowerBI, and with Systematic Rental Management software (or similar software) is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; a post-secondary diploma in a relevant field would be an asset but is not required
