We offer a unique role where you will have the opportunity to play a significant part in impactful and innovative projects, including initiatives focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), while staying at the forefront of emerging technologies in the maritime industry.
 

As a Marine Mechanical Systems Technician, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in the design and integration of marine mechanical systems, including propulsion, hydraulics, HVAC, water distribution networks, fuel systems, lubrication systems, and auxiliary systems.
  • Produce installation, assembly, and fabrication drawings.
  • Select appropriate mechanical components (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping, supports) based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the structural team and ensure effective spatial coordination within vessels.
  • Apply fluid mechanics principles, including pressure, flow rate, and pressure loss calculations.
  • Work in compliance with safety, material, and manufacturing standards.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Has three (3) years or less of relevant experience.
  • Is proficient with AutoCAD.
  • Has an interest in or experience with Rhino and Inventor.
  • Understands technical drawings, including process flow diagrams, arrangement drawings, and piping isometrics.
  • Is eager to learn maritime classification rules and standards such as Bureau Veritas, Transport Canada, and Lloyd's Register.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and autonomy.
  • Exhibits a collaborative mindset and strong teamwork skills.
