Position Overview:

The Sales Reporting Analyst supports the Sales Operations team by assisting in the development and delivery of reporting, analytics, and data-driven insights. Working closely with the Manager of Sales Analytics and Reporting, this role is responsible for preparing recurring reports, maintaining data integrity, and supporting key initiatives through accurate and timely data handling. The Analyst will work primarily with the Microsoft Data Stack (Power BI, Excel, Power Query, SQL, etc.) and open source tools such as KNIME, with guidance and mentorship provided to deepen technical skills and business understanding over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and refresh recurring sales reports and dashboards in Power BI, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining data models, queries, and data transformations using Power Query (M language).
  • Perform data extraction and manipulation from various systems (ERP, CRM/Dataverse, Excel).
  • Support data validation, cleanup, and normalization tasks across different data sources (e.g., company names, addresses).
  • Conduct basic analysis and help identify data issues, inconsistencies, or anomalies for resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Manager and other stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and ensure outputs meet business needs.
  • Document report logic, data sources, and processes to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Learn and apply basic DAX calculations to enhance reporting measures under guidance.
  • Contribute to the automation of manual processes through Power Automate where appropriate.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and Power Query (or similar tools for data transformation and visualization).
  • Basic SQL skills or familiarity with database concepts.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Excel, including working with large datasets.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and approaches, with a proactive attitude toward personal development.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • 1-3 years of experience in reporting, data analysis, or a related role (or relevant education with practical project work).
Nice to Have (but not required):
  • Exposure to Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, or CRM/ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with DAX for Power BI.
  • Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation.
