THE POSITION

The Support for Assistive Services in Health and Social Services Institutions program aims to train healthcare professionals capable of providing quality care in a variety of settings: hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, intermediate resources, community settings, and home care. Graduates contribute directly to the well-being of people of all ages and backgrounds who have lost their independence.

We are looking for a dynamic teacher for our Support for Assistive Services in Health and Social Services Institutions program. • Prepare and plan teaching materials;

 • Teach in classrooms, laboratories;

 • Evaluate students according to program competencies;

 • Accompany and supervise students during clinical placements;

 • Train and support students to develop their professional autonomy;

 • Teach theoretical courses as well as laboratories and internships, both in the Health, Assistance, and Nursing program and in the Patient Care Assistant program.

Requested skills

General qualifications

  • Hold a DEP in Health, Assistance, and Nursing (HAN), or a DEC in Nursing, or a bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Hold or be in the process of obtaining a valid teaching permit issued by the MEQ.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and have good knowledge of French.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching and enthusiasm for educating students.
  • Stay up to date with current trends in educational programs and pedagogical research.
  • Be able to adapt predefined activity plans and demonstrate flexibility in lesson planning.
  • Have a keen interest in participating in initiatives that contribute to the development of the training center or team projects.
  • Have experience in teaching and/or team supervision; previous relevant experience is considered an asset.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) or the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ).
  • Be available Monday through Friday, during the day and evening, for teaching internships and theory courses.
  • Be able to travel within the Quebec City area to supervise internships.
