THE POSITION

This position entails the responsibility for the management from both the pedagogical and administrative aspects of all the programs and resources of the school in accordance with the Education Act, the School Board, the school mission, the policies, practices, and the responsibilities defined by the Central Québec School Board as well as those defined in the Regulation respecting the conditions of employment of management staff of school boards.

Requested skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in education or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold a senior executive or senior staff position, excluding that of manager, in a school board or hold a position of vice-principal.
  • A graduate university program including a minimum of 30 credits in administration related to a senior staff position in a school. A minimum of six credits must have been acquired prior to the first appointment. In exceptional cases, the school board may refer to a selection committee someone who has not accumulated six credits in administration.
  • 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A permanent teaching licence issued by the Minister.
  • Excellent proficiency in oral and written English and French.
  • A high degree of interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Ability to outreach to the community and stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date and sound overall pedagogical knowledge and visionary educational leadership abilities.
  • Ability to promote team building and work in a cooperative manner.
  • Excellent listening skills
  • A strong sense of ethics and a definite advocate of best teaching practices.
  • Commitment to ensure students are provided with a school that is secure, stimulating and a place where everyone can learn and grow. Promote the inclusivity of the school for all students and staff
  • Planning, organization and general administration knowledge and skills (ex. managing budgets, organizing teachers’ workload, managing & facilitating meetings, etc.).

 

NB. The Governing Board of each school is consulted on the selection criteria as per the Education Act. The Board will take these criteria under consideration during the selection process.
