POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Due to the company's rapid growth, we are looking for a new Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Property Accountant will work under the supervision of the Chief Accountant and will be expected to work within a dynamic and fast-paced team. The incumbent will be responsible for monthly accounting, monitoring the operational and capital budgets, and preparing annual audit reports for the real estate assets assigned to you.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze monthly management and financial reports and compare them with approved budgets
- Carry out the various monthly and year-end reconciliations
- Compile and analyze financial information provided by property managers and partners
- Coordinate the monthly receipt of all financial data provided by property managers and partners and validate its content
- Ensure that the internal controls in place are implemented
- Establish and maintain good business relationships with various property managers and partners
- Make the necessary adjustment entries monthly
- Participate in special projects assigned to him/her
- Participate in the execution of audit files as part of the annual audit
- University degree in accounting an asset or administrative technician with relevant experience
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Good command of MS Office software, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of HOPEM (an asset)
