POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The welcoming Les Jardins du Couvent residence is currently seeking a Day Shift Personal Support Worker. Located in Marieville, where the countryside meets the conveniences of city living, we welcome approximately one hundred independent and semi-independent residents. 30 minutes from Montreal via Highway 10 East. 35 minutes from Granby via Highway 10 West.
Permanent full-time position, 7/15 schedule, 56 hours every two weeks, daytime hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and one weekend out of two.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to standards and legislation in accordance with private seniors' home certification and the code of ethics
- Answering call bells
- Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around
- Delivering messages to the nursing staff
- In collaboration with the different teams, carry out health and hygienic care to the residents while maintaining their dignity and integrity .
- Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents
- Respond to all emergency situations
- While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.
- Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
- PDSB training
- APRPA training
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
- 1 year of relevant experience will be considered an important asset
