POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The St. Joseph Hospital Residence houses the nuns who previously worked at the Hôtel-Dieu. We are looking for an experienced and professional Nurse Manager with a nursing background and extensive management experience.

The Nurse Manager plans, directs, and controls activities related to the delivery of care and the well-being of residents. He/She ensures compliance with professional standards and the regulations governing the certification of private seniors' residences in his/her sector. Permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and weekends as needed.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct new employee onboarding, probation follow-ups, annual evaluations and the application of disciplinary measures
  • Departmental budget management
  • Organize regular team meetings in coordination with the Director of Care
  • Participate in the certification process and the implementation of recommendations from recognized accreditation bodies
  • Plan and coordinate employee work plans
Management
  • Act as an intermediary for various external stakeholders (physicians, pharmacists, CLSC, CISSS/CIUSSS, etc.)
Health Care
  • Adhere to standards and legislation in accordance with private seniors' home certification and the code of ethics
  • Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Proactively assist and support the residents
  • Provide a range of nursing care and treatments in order to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
  • Respond to all emergency situations
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Hold a nursing degree
  • Experience in personnel management
  • At lease 3 to 5 years of experience in nursing with a minimum of 1 year in administration
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in health management (RPA ideally)
  • A working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook software
