Description
Le St-Patrick, a friendly private seniors' residence located just off Les Plaines, is seeking a person to fill a heavy maintenance attendant position. In compliance with health and safety regulations, the heavy maintenance attendant is responsible for the cleanliness and disinfection of the residence's workspaces and common areas. They also oversee waste and recycling management. To carry out their duties, they may be required to lift heavy loads. Group insurance, telemedicine, free indoor parking, free meals, and more!
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday Salary: Starting at $19 per hour
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- At all times, respect safety rules, intervene or inform your manager if elements appear to contravene WHMIS standards
- Carry out any other tasks related to his/her duties and at the request of his/her immediate superior
- Clean shared bathrooms and toilets
- Clear corridors and access doors of items that could be cumbersome and affect the safety of residents
- Disinfect handrails (railings), access buttons and frequently used door handles
- Dust common furniture, windowsills, counters, mirrors or other areas prone to dust accumulation
- Empty waste and recycling containers into the appropriate containers
- Ensure that the residence entrances are locked and secure when making your rounds
- Ensure that the storage area for household products and the work cart are clean, safe and locked at all times
- Respond to emergencies such as: overflowing toilet, slippery surfaces, soiled area, etc.
- Sweep and wash floors in common areas, offices, stairwells and elevator(s)
- Take inventory of products and promptly notify the maintenance manager of items to be ordered
- Wash the windows a few times a year
- Professional Studies Diploma (DEP) in building maintenance (an asset)
- WHMIS training (an asset, provided on-site if applicable)
- Minimum of one year of experience in similar roles
