POSITION DESCRIPTION:
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
- Collaborate with residents for medical visits
- Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
- Create and maintain metuculous notes in the residents Dossier in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ)
- Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
- Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
- Participate in health assessments of new residents or whenever it is required
- Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents
- Provide a range of nursing care and treatments in order to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
- Respond to all emergency situations
- Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
- Upon requests from physicians, pharmacists or the CISSS, follow up on residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
- Collect degree in nursing (DEC) or a proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
- Ease in the use of computer tools
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
- Know Symo software (an advantage)
- At lease 3 to 5 years of experience in nursing
- Member of the OIIAQ
