The cook in a senior living residence plays a vital role in the well-being of residents by preparing varied, balanced meals tailored to their dietary needs. They contribute to providing quality food in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, while adhering to current hygiene and sanitation standards.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Prepare and serve healthy, appetizing meals adapted to the nutritional needs of residents, while ensuring quality service, respecting hygiene standards, and contributing to the daily well-being of seniors.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
  • Prepare the lunches and suppers for the Health Care department
  • Use products and equipment according to the safety, quality, hygiene and cleanliness rules and standards in effect
  • Use work methods consistent with the health and safety rules and cleanliness standards in effect
  • When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 year of relevant experience will be considered an important asset
