POSITION DESCRIPTION:
In a context of growth and an increasing number of construction projects, we are looking to recruit an experienced professional capable of performing carpentry and joinery work with precision, autonomy, and a commitment to quality. This position plays a key role in project execution, working closely with foremen and project managers.
We are seeking candidates for various construction sites in the West Island of Montreal.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out carpentry work (wooden structure, formwork, framework)
- Carrying out interior and exterior carpentry work
- Collaborating with other trades on the construction site
- Ensure the quality and compliance of work according to current standards
- Ensure the supply of raw materials
- Install and adjust various elements (doors, windows, moldings, stairs, partitions, etc.)
- Install wooden and aluminum railings, balconies and stairs
- Is required to perform various tasks ranging from apartment renovations to general maintenance in occupied apartments
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintains inventory and produces order lists for administration
- Read and interpret plans, estimates and sketches
- Report any problems or adjustments needed to the foreman
- Respect deadlines and safety standards on construction sites
- Works in conjunction with the apartment manager and the operations manager to manage the various priorities of the day
- Hold a DEP in carpentry-joinery
- Valid CCQ competency card
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction
- Good knowledge of health and safety standards on construction sites
- Ability to read plans and specifications
- Good knowledge of spoken French
- Valid driver's license (an asset)
- Hold a valid CCQ card (journeyman or in the process of becoming one)
- Experience in installing ramps, stairs and balconies
- General knowledge of carpentry and maintenance work
