The incumbent will be required to travel throughout the province, primarily within these regions. The position may be based in either region, depending on the successful candidate's location. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a highly qualified Building Mechanics and Control Inspector/Analyst, specialized in building mechanics, to carry out a complete inspection of our entire real estate portfolio. Reporting to the National Director of Asset Maintenance, the selected person will play a key role in assessing the mechanical condition of buildings, producing detailed and rigorous reports to ensure the sustainability and compliance of our facilities.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess the condition, performance, compliance with standards and maintenance needs of mechanical equipment.
- Document all findings per building in the form of a structured and detailed report.
- Inspect all buildings in one year.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, safety standards and best practices in building mechanics.
- Perform technical and visual inspections of building mechanical systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, fire protection systems, etc.).
- Plan your trips on the road independently to cover the different sites.
- Present reports to the National Director of Asset Maintenance for explanation and discussion.
- Propose corrective and preventive recommendations based on observations.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure follow-up on findings and recommendations.
- Work closely with the energy efficiency team to optimize the energy consumption of buildings.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of commercial building mechanical systems
- Excellent command of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Diploma in building mechanics, building engineering, building inspection or a related field
- Knowledge of control systems (BAS)
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required
