Chinook’s Edge School Division invites applications, from current Chinook’s Edge Principals and Vice-Principals, for a Division Principal position effective the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Division Principal will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, school leaders, and division office staff in school and system improvement, with a particular emphasis on alternative learning and curriculum support. The Division Principal will also have additional responsibilities supporting the work of the Central Office Leadership Team and Learning Services.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in all dimensions of the Leadership Quality Standard and possess the ability to:
Principalship of Colony schools
Support schools and the division in the areas of teaching, learning, instruction, and assessment;
Support new provincial and school board implementations or priorities including new provincial programs of study and curriculum resources;
Play a key role in literacy and numeracy improvement efforts across the division;
Support collaborative response in all schools;
Support and connect school leaders in the area of instructional leadership and educational planning;
Design and facilitate the work of committees focused on teaching and learning;
Coordinate data collection and summarize key data for school and division leaders.
Support System Services in the areas of flexible learning, academies, and international students.
Support Learning Services in areas such as career connections, post-secondary transitioning, high school redesign, educational technology, learning commons visioning, and diploma exam perusals.
Review research and compile best practices;
Serve as a liaison between administrators and the Central Office Leadership Team;
Represent Chinook’s Edge School Division at local, regional, and provincial events as necessary; and
Attend to additional responsibilities as determined by the Superintendency Team.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of five years’ experience as a school-based administrator, and those who have completed or are working toward a Masters degree in Education.
This position will be for a two-year term with the possibility of a one-year extension. At the conclusion of the term, the successful candidate will either return to an administrative position within Chinook’s Edge School Division and/or apply for the next Division Principalship term.
