Chinook School Division is seeking applications for casual Educational Assistants for the following schools:
CUPE ($19.25/hour):
Burstall, Leader, Sidney Street, Fox Valley
Non-Union ($19.68/hour):
Waldeck, Ecole Centennial, Success, Ruskin Hutterian, O.M. Irwin, Swift Current Comprehensive, Creston Bench Hutterian, Garden Plane Hutterian, Gull Lake, Consul, Cabri
SEIU ($19.00/hour):Bone Creek Hutterian, Shaunavon Public

A team member who, in cooperation with a designated teacher, is responsible to the principal for assisting with the educational program of selected students in order to improve the students' instructional learning opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise student in the classroom, play, lunch or rest area and during recreational activities on a one-to-one or group basis
- Under the direct supervision of a teacher, supervise, support and facilitate learning activities
- Assist in various life skill activities
- Assist designated disabled students in the development of gross and fine motor abilities and basic life skills by demonstration, physical assistance and manipulation
- Exercise judgment in modifying student behavior by restraining, directing, disciplining and rewarding students within pre-established guidelines.
- Based on the needs of individual students, provide designated disabled students with assistance in dressing, eating, toileting and transportation
- Under the direct supervision of a teacher, assist assigned students with reading, speech, assignments, tests and comprehension of presented curriculum, based on the student's Personal Program Plan
- Under the direct supervision of a teacher, assist students who are deaf by serving as a facilitator of communication between the student and others including teachers, other service providers and peers within the educational environment
- Promote the vision, mission, principles and goals of the Chinook School Division
- Perform such other duties and tasks as may be required due to the specialized nature of a student's particular education program
- Ability and experience in working with children
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and an ability to work in a team environment
- A positive and flexible attitude to change
- Demonstrates a commitment to truth and reconciliation
- Demonstrates a commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion
- Participation in the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan
