The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a Research Assistant 2 in a casual role within in the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR). IMHPR is a key driver in building the knowledge base for policy decisions, development of mental health interventions, and health system improvement. The area of focus is on climate change and health and implications for populations experiencing poverty. Reporting to the Principal Investigator and Research Manager and working with a range of partners, your duties will include but are not limited to multiple administrative tasks, database management, and stakeholder communications. You will contribute to scoping and systematic reviews andknowledge mobilization actitivities. Lived expertise and Indigenous engagement are key aspects of this work. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements, and encourages recovery-oriented care. This position is primarily located at 250 College Street and 1025 Queen Street West.

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate must have a minimum three (3) years’ Community College in the area of Public Health combined with one (1) year of research experience and training related to climate and health equity. Experience with knowledge mobilization related to climate and health equity is required. Experience with qualitative research and literature reviews is required. Proficiency in PC software skills, including Microsoft Office and internet search engines is required. Experience developing public health materials using Canva is required. Detail oriented, well-organized, with a strong technical aptitude is required. Knowledge mobilization skills are required. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); and function well within a cooperative, collaborative working environment. You have the ability for self-directed learning/working; while working concurrently on multiple projects. Candidates must be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and with individuals with severe mental health challenges. Bilingualism (English/French) and/or proficiency in another language, lived expertise in areas pertinent to this project, and experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities are all assets.
