The Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics (KCNI) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is harnessing the power of high-performance computing and novel technologies to integrate and analyze the wealth of data generated about the brain and mental health. Our research is performed in an open science environment, with an emphasis on reproducible data-driven research and a patient-centric approach to accelerate identification and treatment of mental illness. A focus on global collaboration is key to transforming our understanding of mental health and its treatment. The Centre operates as an incubator for medical technologies to identify, manage and treat mental illness, while shaping policy at national and global levels.

Position Description:

The Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics has an opening for a full-time, contract (1- year) Research Analyst position. This position provides research support to two Scientists at the Centre. It offers the opportunity to be part of active and productive interdisciplinary teams and to carry out a variety of interesting tasks interfacing research and administration. Responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation and submission of research protocols (e.g., ethics applications), study start-up tasks (e.g., programming measures on REDCap), data collection and logging, and maintaining appropriate regulatory documentation. Other responsibilities include supporting literature reviews, grant applications, and research dissemination (e.g., abstract or manuscript preparation).

This full-time, contract position is located at 250 College Street.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Public Health, Psychology, Anthropology) with 1 year experience working as a Research Analyst or related role. This position requires initiative, tact, maturity, and a high degree of discretion and confidentiality. The candidate will be a self-driven, detail-oriented, and proactive worker with good organizational, problem-solving, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and communication skills. They will also demonstrate sound judgment, adaptability, and composure. The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to learn and adapt to different work assignments in an interdisciplinary team setting, as well as work well independently with minimal direct supervision. They value research and recognize the transformative impact it can make on a patient's lives. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Adobe Acrobat is required. Experience with Confluence and REDCap is an asset, as well as knowledge of mental health disorders, exposure to AI methods and their healthcare applications and equity implications. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of inclusive environments and will support and implement anti-oppressive and anti-racist best practices in the workplace. The ability to work with stakeholders of diverse identities and ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is required.
