The CAMH Queen Street Campus Facilities Planning & Development department is a capital program which supports the transformation of lives for those affected by mental illness.
The Facilities Planning & Development department (FP) plans and executes small to large capital redevelopment projects ($10K to $2M), renovation projects, building maintenance and infrastructure upgrades for retained buildings and offsite leases. We are seeking a full-time permanent Project Manager to support our team. The department also manages two 3rd party FM contracts for five DBFM buildings, which require complex coordination of renovations within the DBFM buildings. The Facilities Planning facilitates stakeholder engagement to establish scope/ design in support of clinical care, clinical research and clinical education within new/ existing buildings. The FP regularly reports on project status (scope, cost, schedule, risks) to Executive Leadership and the CAMH Board of Trustees. This opportunity will support campus wide capital projects initiatives. Manage all aspects of multiple, simultaneous renovation projects including planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out. Leverage 3rd party consultants, contractors to support scope development, document coordination/ quality control, cost estimation risk management, and project execution. For work in DBFM buildings extra layers of coordination are required, beyond the typical project stages. This role will have a direct reporting relationship with the Senior Manager of Facilities Planning & Development. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and providing hands-on project management and contract administration during the planning, design, construction and close-out stages of project assigned. Direct, hands-on project experience during the construction stage is preferred as is technical and contractual knowledge of the planning, design and construction stages of projects.
The Project Manager will play a key role on capital projects and will be responsible to provide a significant portion of the hands-on coordination, planning, and execution of tasks required to manage the project. The Project Manager will lead and execute project work streams independently and be accountable for the tracking of assigned project documents. The Project Manager will lead the engagement and coordination of a variety of internal and external stakeholders as well as the facilitation of team/stakeholder meetings as required.
The successful candidate will possess excellent customer relationship skills, negotiations, team work skills, strong business acumen, demonstrated leadership skills, strategic thinking skills, project management skills, strong computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and communities is essential.
