The 988 team is seeking a full time, permanent, Program Manager

On November 30, 2023, 9-8-8 was launched in Canada as a new national three-digit number for suicide prevention and emotional distress. In 2022, CAMH was announced as the lead for the coordination and administration of 9-8-8, and has acted in this capacity to lead and coordinate the implementation of 9-8-8 and manage the operations and post-launch activities.

9-8-8 is available 24/7/365, in English and French, and accessible to everyone from coast to coast to coast. CAMH is working closely with the federal government and key partners from different groups and communities, provinces, territories, to deliver this high quality, evidence-based, equitable suicide prevention service to Canada.

9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline is seeking a full-time, permanent Program Manager of the 9-8-8 Training and Education Program reporting to the Director, 9-8-8 Partnerships and Strategy, with dotted line reporting to the Director, Learning & Integration. This role will oversee adherence to all 9-8-8 Training and Education deliverables within time, scope and budget, including oversight of human resources and collaboration with other team members at CAMH. The role will form essential relationships with a range of interest holders including but not limited to cross-departmental education and training team members, training audiences (e.g. 9-8-8 responders and supervisors), the 9-8-8 communications and marketing team, the 9-8-8 quality assurance team, and people with lived experience. Through strong change management and relationship management skills, the Program Manager will support and oversee uptake of the products produced by the training and education program. The role will ensure that the deliverables are of high standard, and that the program operates effectively and efficiently with the ultimate goal of delivering a high quality, evidence based 9-8-8 service that supports people across Canada reaching out for support.
