The Black Health Strategy team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a full-time, contract (15 months) Implementation Coordinator to work as part of a provincial team that supports the spread and scale of AMANI: Mental Health & Substance Use Services for Black Youth (www.amaniservices.ca). AMANI is Canada’s first hospital-community partnership dedicated to improving mental health and substance use health care for Black youth. AMANI supports a provincial network of hospital and community-based partners working together to deliver culturally responsive, evidence-based care across Ontario. The Implementation Coordinator will support the advancement of organizational transformation and systems changes in policies, programs and services for Black youth and their families across Ontario. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Black Health Strategy, with day-to-day work assignments provided by the project management team.
The successful candidate must have an in-depth understanding of the various pathways through which social determinants of health are amplified by anti-Black racism to undermine protective factors and enhance risk factors for poorer mental health outcomes and substance use concerns among Black youth. The successful candidate will possess strong competencies in project management and key partner engagement, and have a proven track record of collaboration with diverse Black communities from the onset of relationships through to implementation and evaluation phases. Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, and an ability to balance competing priorities to support projects with tight deadlines is required. The candidate will also be committed to respectful, ethical, culturally responsive, and youth focused programming and aware of best practices related to engagement with Black youth and communities.

This position will be located in Ontario, anywhere outside of the Greater Toronto Area. A valid driver’s license and an ability to travel for work assignments throughout the province is required.
