About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Reliability Engineering, the Reliability Engineer will lead analysis on equipment failures, identify and implement operational improvements and use reliability methodology to maximize equipment reliability contributing to continuous improvement. The role will make recommendations, implement, track, and conduct post assessments to ensure recommendation effectiveness.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead Root Cause analysis on equipment failures to contribute to continuous improvement.

  • Implement recommendations to complex problems, track, and look back to ensure effectiveness.

  • Provide technical support to others throughout the business unit.

  • Analyze equipment performance based on operating data and maintenance history, identifying and investigating bad actors.

  • Identify and implement ideas to improve operational performance, increase availability, and reduce costs.

  • Provide guidance during turnarounds and unplanned equipment outages regarding repair solutions.

  • Provide input to a risk management plan that will anticipate risks that could adversely impact plant operations.

  • Determine the function, capability, functional failure modes, probability of failure, impact severity, and acceptable risk for assets to define the right maintenance requirements to eliminate functional failures and their effects.

  • Utilize reliability engineering strategies to assess and maximize equipment reliability.

  • Systematically define, design, develop, monitor, and refine an asset maintenance plan.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for assets.

  • Assist in the financial justification of asset reliability upgrades and improvements using lifecycle costing.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or relevant.

  • Registered P.Eng with APEGA or APEGS.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience related to maintenance or facilities engineering in the Oil & Gas industry or relevant.

  • Understanding of industry standards and codes.

  • Previous experience with SAP.

  • Strong understanding of SAGD process and equipment an asset.
