Position: Summer Transition Program (STP)
Location: St. Matthew CSS, Cornwall St. Luke, Smiths Falls
St. Mark, Prescott St. Francis Xavier CHS, Hamond
St. Finnan, Alexandria St. Andrew, St. Andrew's West
St. Francis de Sales, Smiths Falls St. John CHS, Perth
Salary: Continuing Education Rate ($47.70/hourly)
Hours of Work: 9:00am - 3:00pm (includes 30 mins daily prep & 30 mins unpaid lunch)
Effective: August 20, 21 & 25-29, 2025
The program will be held based on sufficient enrolment.
Summary:
The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario will be offering a Summer Transition Program for students with high needs at the above locations. The goal of this program is to help students transition back to school at the end of the summer.
- The Classroom Teacher and 2 Educational Assistants will meet on August 20th and August 21st for two days of prep and planning from 9:00-3:00pm (including a 30 minute unpaid lunch).
- The hours are 9:00-3:00 each day including a 30 minute prep time from 9:00-9:30 am and a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
- The students will be participating in the STP from 9:30-3:00 pm from August 25th to August 29th
- Ontario College of Teacher's Certificate;
- Minimum Special Education Part 1 and experience in a MEP classroom/ working with students with complex care needs
- Religious Education Part I would be considered an asset;
- Qualifications with respect to specialized subjects will be required, as per Ministry regulations.
