We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is crucial to supporting our financial operations and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Summary description of the position

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this person is responsible for invoices, their verification and reconciliation. She will act as a resource person for suppliers. She will participate in various administrative tasks as well as end-of-term conciliation. This person will be responsible for:

  • Process and verify invoices and payment requests;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions;
  • Prepare and perform monthly accounts payable reconciliations;
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies or problems related to invoices;
  • Support the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable;
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams regarding payment requests;
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Requirements and qualifications

  • DEC in accounting or any other related training;
  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Significant experience with an ERP system, knowledge of Dynamics 365, an asset;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel;
  • Bilingualism (French/English), for communication with suppliers;
  • Manage and complete multiple tasks accurately and by deadline;
  • Autonomous and able to work under pressure;
  • Be able to properly follow up on requests;
  • Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the job;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
