THE ROLE

The Total Compensation Special Strategic Advisor will serve as a trusted expert, leading the research, creation, implementation and management of fair, competitive total compensation strategy, policies and programs that align to our mission and values. You will conduct comprehensive compensation data analysis to guide program development and support evidence-based decision-making. You will direct total compensation surveys, monitoring market trends and recommend strategic adjustments to sustain competitiveness. You will also champion organization-wide communication and training to foster understanding and transparency around compensation frameworks.

The ideal candidate for this position will work in a hybrid capacity based in Ottawa, Ontario. However, we are open to considering applicants who wish to work remotely from another location within Canada. Flexibility in work arrangements is available for exceptional candidates across the country.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, Social Sciences or a related field, AND several years of experience in Total Compensation

Professional designation in Compensation considered an asset

Experience

In the design, implementation and management of total compensation/rewards programs and policies

In salary surveys, benchmarking and market data analysis

In applying and interpreting human resources related policies, procedures and legislation

In managing job evaluation programs and conducting job evaluations

In providing advice and guidance to senior management on Human Resources and/or compensation issues

Leadership abilities to motivate, coach and mentor staff, delivering on high-impact strategic objectives

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (English and French) preferred. We are open to consider qualified unilingual candidates if bilingual candidates are not available.

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager. However, we are open to considering applicants who wish to work remotely from another location within Canada. Flexibility in work arrangements is available for exceptional candidates across the country.
