THE ROLE

PSP Military Housing was created in 1961 to provide housing for Junior Non-Commissioned Members posted to the National Capital Region. PSP Military Housing consists of 519 three-bedroom townhouses and 26 three-bedroom bungalows.

Under the direction of the Property Manager, the Superintendent plans, coordinates and supervises all housing maintenance. Daily, you supervise handypersons in regard to the repair of housing units and monitor and maintain records of repairs. You will have the opportunity to inspect facilities for potential repairs and of contractor and cleaner’s workmanship and inspect units and assess damages and cleanliness on departure of occupants and advise of costs.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Facility Management, or in a related field AND some experience in facility maintenance, or in a related field

OR

High School diploma AND several years of experience in facility maintenance, or in a related field Experience

Experience

In occupancy agreements and/or rental procedures

In facility and/or housing maintenance

In resources management

In personnel administration

In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and internet browsing

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
