THE ROLEThe Policy Development and Research Manager helps guide important research projects that support the goals of the organization, reporting directly to the Senior Manager. They work closely with a team to plan studies, review existing information, lead surveys, analyze data, and handle day-to-day research tasks. A big part of their job is turning complex research findings into clear, practical advice that can help service providers, decision-makers, and other researchers. They are also skilled at explaining these findings in simple terms to people who may not have a scientific background, whether in meetings, presentations, or public discussions.
As an expert in resilience research, they offer valuable insights to senior leaders. The role also includes managing research contracts and working with partners to share knowledge in meaningful ways. To succeed in this role, strong research skills, attention to detail, experience with publishing, and comfort using research software are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies, Sociology, Social Work or a related discipline.
AND
Several years of experience in social research, program and community development or a related field.

OTHER INFORMATIONEnhanced Reliability Security Clearance
This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
